Job Title: Corporate Attorney

Summary

This position's key responsibilities are to draft and negotiate commercial contracts, support corporate compliance activities and assist with developing, implementing and continually improving processes and procedures to increase efficiency of NxStage's Legal Department.

Specific Duties:

  • Drafting and negotiating contracts such as sales contracts, confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements, software license and support agreements, service agreements, clinical trial and clinical research organization agreements and vendor agreements.
  • Supporting compliance activities, including through training and auditing activities, as well as through developing and implementing new compliance policies, as needed.
  • Review of product labeling and marketing materials.
  • Oversee litigation matters, as they arise.

Requirements:

  • J.D with excellent academic credentials required
  • 5-10 years experience as a corporate attorney; minimum of 5 years experience reviewing and negotiating contracts.
  • Healthcare, medical device, biotech or pharmaceutical experience preferred in either a law firm or as in-house counsel.
  • Regulatory and transactional experience; including compliance, vendor contracts, general business employment matters and governmental relations.
  • Proven negotiation, drafting and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, analytical and writing skills.
  • Solid track record of building strong relationships and working with different personality types.
  • Accustomed to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment with the ability to constantly reprioritize.
  • Responsive to quick turn-around time, have the ability to look at issues from a multidimensional view, enjoy a fast-paced environment.
