Job Title: Senior Marketing Manager, Therapy Development

Summary

The Senior Marketing Manager, Therapy Development will have primary responsibility for the marketing of NxStages home therapy to physicians and other clinicians, including the development and implementation of an overall therapy/clinician marketing strategy and tactics, and coordination of that strategy and tactics with our patient market development and product marketing strategies and tactics. The individual in this role will be expected to assess, develop, plan, coordinate, implement, monitor, measure, and adjust as needed, creative and effective plans to optimize the knowledge, expertise, and clinical buy-in of our therapy, products, and clinical data by our targeted physicians and other clinicians.

Specific Duties:

  • Develop a strong understanding of the knowledge, commitment, needs and expectations of existing and potential physician customers regarding home hemodialysis.
  • Using this knowledge, develop and implement a cohesive therapy marketing plan to communicate with and gain increased understanding, commitment, and buy-in regarding home hemodialysis and NxStage from physicians and related clinicians.
  • Develop & implement appropriate programs & tools to maximize our customers' clinical expertise with the therapy, to maximize patient recruitment, training efficiency, & retention.
  • Develop & implement nephrologist education programs, which may include but not be limited to in-person physician educational events, website content, webinars, or other events, on home hemodialysis and NxStage therapy.
  • Work closely with clinical research team and Marketing Director on the establishment of the overall clinical publication plan and cadence.
  • Work with clinical research team and Marketing Director on assessing progress of FREEDOM study and Nocturmal IDE study, and coordinate the analysis & communication of interim & final results.
  • Collaborate with clinical research team on smaller studies, such as those on kinetics, access, and alternative treatment regimens.
  • Develop & use center benchmarking tools to identify centers of excellence and those with opportunities for improvement in areas of patient recruitment, training efficiency, & retention.
  • Expand company learning in the area of every-other-day therapy (kinetics, results, economics).
  • Establish & maintain metrics & analysis of patient retention data and other appropriate data from patient database.
  • Contribute ideas to the development of overall market development plans, including both patient market development and therapy development aspects.
  • Additional responsibilities, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • B.S./B.A. or equivalent. MBA a plus but not required.
  • 4+ years of experience in marketing or strategic consulting with at least one year of marketing experience in the health care industry (medical device experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and clearly communicate technical and clinical / scientific aspects of innovative, technical products.
  • High levels of initiative, drive, creative idea generation, commitment, and integrity.
  • Demonstrated track record of working well with internal and external customers, sales management, and other functional team members.
  • Strong skills in communication, program & tool development, project management, and leadership & influence management. Ability to manage without direct reporting relationships essential.
  • Travel required (15-20%)
