NxStage is committed to providing both patient groups with innovative, simple solutions that make improved treatment options accessible. Our advancements in technology, including the NxStage System One, are the products of a talented R&D team with more than 200 years of combined renal care experience. They are credited with more than 100 career renal care patents. NxStage has built a patent portfolio of 18 issued patents and 56 worldwide patent applications (as of September 2005) related to our novel technologies. NxStage’s technological advancements have been recognized by the medical industry; the company was awarded the 2005 Nixon Peabody/Smith & Nephew Medical Device Innovation Award in the Start-Up category from the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC).
