Denny Treu has been at NxStage Medical Inc. since the company’s inception in 1999 and led the design and development of its renal platforms. Over the course of his 38 year career Denny has led the development of 6 dialysis systems that have been very successful in the renal market and is an inventor on 68 US patents. He is involved in many medical device and renal care standards committees including the co-chair for the AAMI Renal Disease and Detoxification committee; co-chair for the AAMI HA Home Use and EMS Environments committee; IEC 60601-2-16 MT20 team for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis machines; and ISO TC150 SC2 WG5 for water treatment and dialysate standards. Previous to NxStage, Denny was the Vice President of R&D for 4 years leading the development of Aksys Ltd. home Personal Hemodialysis Dialysis System, Director of R&D for Renal Products for Gambro/COBE Laboratories leading the development of the Centrysystem 3 and Prisma dialysis systems, and Sr. Engineer for Rockwell International Collins Avionics Division.
Denny graduated with honors in 1979 from Montana State University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
